As a coach, one of the big lessons you learn is not to give advice to your Coachees. Not an easy ‘ask’ when the past 38 years of my career have been focused on leading, managing & guiding teams through many challenges & difficulties. Much of that time & effort involves providing advice to colleagues, who mostly have the same goals & challenges as yourself.
Add to that mentoring & career counselling, & then quelling the advice monster within becomes a serious challenge, especially when I listen to so many inspirational podcasts, read books on motivation & just want to share & advise.
Coaching is fast becoming my passion & in order to be able to be good at it – I will tame this Advice Monster!
This blog will be my outlet. My forum for sharing ideas, approaches, guidance & yes, advice, so I don’t do it in my coaching sessions.
Most, if not all of the content is not my own, but rather gathered from my reading, podcasts & subscriptions to other channels of information. Sometimes it will be what you know, sometimes it may possibly be boring, the intention is just to share what I have found motivational & what has helped me on my journey getting me to where I am today.
